Story Festival activities will run between 11.00 and 15.00 – everything is free and takes place on a drop-in and first come first served basis.

Performances will include:

Mrs H and the Sing-along Band
Come and join Mrs H and her band as they whisk you away on a musical journey with their infectious songs. Part theatre, part comedy, with a huge sprinkling of mischief, bring your voices, silly dances, and don’t hold back from joining in the family fun!

Ceyda Tanc Dance x Theatre Fideri Fidera
Watch an extract of evim [my home], a magical introduction to dance theatre for children and their families. The wanderers twirl, whirl and play using captivating movement and enchanting music in this non-verbal and sensory show. Ceyda Tanc Dance's athletic contemporary dance work is influenced by Tanc’s Turkish heritage, embedding themes of feminism, ceremony and community. Fidera is an artist-led Anglo-Swiss theatre company dedicated to creating exciting original work for children and their families. Both companies are committed to creating performances that are accessible, entertaining and provide a shared experience for audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Chickenshed Theatre
Chickenshed’s Tales from the Shed team bring Totally Tales, a show full to the brim of the beauty of storytelling. The audience shape the story in a highly participatory experience. You may want to bring one of your toys, or something from home that can be used to help the story along.
The 11:00 performance will target children with sensory differences and their families.
For the 12:30 and 14:00 performances all families are welcome.

Little Angel Theatre
Meet puppets up close from Little Angel Theatre around the galleries. You might find a monkey, seagulls, a cat and a fox!

Freshwater Theatre
Enjoy storytelling in The Stage including 'The Fearsome Giant' and 'How the Zebra got it's Stripes' from local company Freshwater Theatre.

Sensory Storytelling
Children under 2 years old and their adults can join Play Champions in the Mini Museum to hear the tale of a little frog growing and exploring the world around them.
